Why a Debut Event?
Events are fun
Events are cool
It's a celebration
It can generate buzz
No one has any idea the thing exists unless we tell them it does
Projecting the NEO Eden Aesthetic
The event should feel as coherent and connected with the website as possible; as if the debut event is the website existing in the physical world
The event should make it clear that the website knows what it is; we're not looking for people to help make this thing, we're saying it's here and you should definitely go lap it up
The Dink Whombus Rhombus Bhombus Orchestra Performance
The Orchestra has a draw, it has potency; people see it and feel like, "my life has been changed" (this is a quote)
The performance should take a visual, theatrical direction
The environment of the performance should be ripped right from the website
The performance should probably happen early in the event in case the police shut the event down
Where the Heck??
This should probably be at a private location, to allow autonomy for The Dink Whombus Rhombus Bhombus Orchestra and plenty of opportunity to set up
Dani's recommendation is the Brick Pit (a huge vacant lot at 4274-4446 Bradley Rd)
Generating Buzz
The goal is to get people to say NEO Eden
The event will have a Dink Whombus Rhombus Bhombus Orchestra performance; this can potentially overpower the NEO Eden launch of it all
There should probably be some display of NEO Eden artwork, clearly marked as such
NEO Eden stickers/buttons/ephemera would be a way to introduce the name
Suggest that NEO Eden may put together another high-quality event in the future
The goal is to get people onto the website
The website should be accessible by the debut
The website should look roughly the way we want by the debut
We need to make sure it's clear that there is a website
We should make it clear that the website has something to do, some experience to be had
Clay recommends leaning into a FOMO-generation approach
Wants to get some sort of aware, journalistic types to be present and willing to share impressions
Discourages recording entire event
Would involve little advertising ahead of time, mostly follow-up
